On the afternoon of March 11, Guangxi University of Foreign Languages held an inauguration ceremony for seven new schools at its Wuhe Campus. At the inauguration ceremony for the School of International Communication and School of ASEAN Arts, Honorary President Professor Cai Changzhuo emphasized that the establishment of these new schools marks a crucial step in implementing Guangxi University of Foreign Languages’ High-Quality Development 122345 Plan. He urged all faculty members to act as pioneers in educational reform, driving the university’s high-quality development and embracing the wave of digital transformation.

This adjustment represents another series of major strategic initiatives by the GUFL following its first batch of institutional reforms in 2025, aimed at establishing a comprehensive academic system that spans literature, art, management, technology, health sciences, and other fields.

After the restructuring, the university now comprises 19 schools and departments (including teaching divisions), offering 63 undergraduate and junior college programs (including specializations), as well as 13 language varieties and courses. Guangxi University of Foreign Languages, Guangxi’s first private university to achieve undergraduate status, was approved as a master’s degree-granting unit in 2021. Over two decades, it has forged a distinct mission: "Serving Border Regions, Engaging ASEAN, Scaling Up, and Globalizing Excellence", securing partnerships with numerous international universities, enrolling international students, and sending thousands of Chinese students abroad for credit-recognized programs. These efforts have earned GUFL national acclaim and increasing global recognition, solidifying its role as a pioneer in China- ASEAN educational collaboration.
