Chanakan Thongma (Ma Changfeng), a Thai alumnus, was a student of the Chinese Language and Literature major at Guangxi University of Foreign Languages (GUFL) enrolled in 2014. His father is Dr.Wirapan, President of Maejo University, an overseas cooperative university of GUFL.

    In 2014, Chanakan Thongma came to study at GUFL through the "1+3" cooperative program between Maejo University and Guangxi University of Foreign Languages. After graduating with a bachelor's degree from GUFL in 2018, he chose to further his academic pursuits, pursuing a master's degree in International Trade at Sichuan University. Following his master's studies, Chanakan Thongma did not stop progressing; instead, he continued his doctoral studies at National Chung Hsing University in Taiwan, China, focusing on academic research in the field of agricultural economics.

    The Chinese Language and Literature major at GUFL is rooted in the profound foundation of Chinese language, culture, and literature. Facing the needs of the times and international exchanges, it cultivates high-quality applied talents with firm political direction, profound humanistic accomplishment, solid professional foundation, strong writing and innovation abilities, broad international perspective, and keen entrepreneurial awareness. The major emphasizes integrating the core competencies of language and literature with social practice and cross-cultural communication, enabling students to not only excel in the field of Chinese but also leverage their Chinese language advantages to demonstrate their talents in multiple fields such as economy and trade, culture, education, media, and international exchanges.
