Love Is As Deep As The Sea — GUFL Held the 13th Water-Sprinkling Activity for Celebrating Songkran Festival

On the afternoon of April 15th , GUFL held the 13th water-sprinkling activity for celebrating Songkran Festival. Chairat Porntipwarawet, Consul-General of Royal Thai Consulate-General in Nanning and Wanlaya Ruenbotr, Vice Consul-General, Wu Guiming, Vice President of GUFL, teachers and international students of GUFL attended the activity.

Blessing Ceremony

Vice President Wu Guiming made a speech on the opening ceremony. He point our that Songkran Festival is a traditional festival of Dai nationality in China and Thai language ethnic group in southeast Asian region. It is also a traditional campus activity of GUFL. Now it has been 13th years GUFL hold the water-sprinkling activity. And more and more students join the water-sprinkling activity. It was an honour that Chairat Porntipwarawet, Consul-General of Royal Thai Consulate-General in Nanning came to GUFL to celebrate Songkran Festival with us. Vice President Wu Guiming hoped that Chinese students and Thai students can communicate more through this activity. It was a good chance for Chinese students experience Thai culture.

On the opening ceremony, Chinese students performed Kongfu and national dancing. Thai students from Maejo University, North Bangkok University and Huachiew Chalermprakiet University performed Thai style dancing. After performance, the water-sprinkling festival began. Students and teachers poured water to each other, expressing their best wishes to each other.
