The celebratory gongs and drums are sounding, and the laughter is echoing in the campus. On the afternoon of April 16, the International Cultural Festival 2024 and the Water-Splashing Festival with the theme of "Harmonious Coexistence, Shared Fate" was held on the Konggang Campus of the university. The school leaders of the Party and government attended the event. More than 2000 teachers and students, together with more than 100 international students from Thailand, Vietnam and other countries, danced and splashed water to convey their joy and blessings to each other.

With the theme of "Harmonious Coexistence, Shared Fate", the festival was held to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important remarks on building a China-ASEAN community of destiny, the spirit of his important speeches during his state visit to Vietnam, and in response to the national the Belt and Road Initiative, to provide a platform for the exchange of diversified cultures from different countries, and to promote the appreciation of civilizations. It is hoped that the teachers and students will show their youth in this International Cultural Festival, and experience the international campus cultural atmosphere of diverse cultures in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere.

Guangxi University of Foreign Languages (GUFL) has been going for 20 years. As an ASEAN-oriented university featuring the cultivation of internationalized talents, the International Cultural Festival and Water-Splashing Festival to welcome the 20th Anniversary of GUFL is not only a platform for the school and especially the international students to enhance friendship and promote cultural exchanges, but also a chance for Southeast Asian international students far away from home to gather and splash water to wish for the anniversary.
