On a special day, international students of GUFL were honored to be invited to an ancestor-worship ceremony. International students said that they were so excited to attend Chinese nationality traditional activities that they searched some relevant information and knowledge on the Internet the day before departure.

“Zhuang Nationality March 3 Festival in Lunar Calendar” is one of the most important festivals in GuangXi. From April 18 to 22 is five-days vocation for celebrating this festival. Traditional actives in Zhuang Nationality March 3 Festival in Lunar Calendar are going temple fair, ancestor worshiping, dancing, singing and making traditional Zhuang Nationality foods.

International students watched dancing and singing performance by local people for praying good weather, harvest, health and peace in the coming year. Local people prepared oblations and put it in front of the house in advance. After everything is ready, people dressed beautiful national costume to sacrifice.

During this activity, international students have experienced Chinese traditional culture with special characteristics through ancestor worshiping. They tasted the delicious traditional food of Zhuang nationality, felt strong enthusiasm of Zhuang people. All of international students gave a highly appraisal of the local cuisine.

International students thanked GUFL for providing them an opportunity to attend this activity, which not only broaden their horizons and fully felt the charm of Zhuang nationality traditional culture, but also made them realize that the Zhuang people loo so important to their ancestors.
